Who does what?
Buben & Mädchen is not just a brilliant team — there are also plenty of brilliant jobs here. And they are just as individual and exciting as the incentive solutions we create for our clients. What does that mean exactly? Have a look!
And because we love the extraordinary, we’re introducing our typical roles in a slightly unconventional way — anyone can write a classic job description 😉. By the way: unconventional thinking — alongside a great attitude, passion, and team spirit — is exactly what you should bring if you’d like to become part of the BuM family.
Customer Success Management
As a client consultant — aka Customer Success Manager — you are advisor, creative concept guru, motivation pro, organisational wizard, chatterbox, listener, decision-maker, explainer, therapist, fortune teller, deadline hunter, and person of responsibility — all rolled into one. On top of that, you are permanently in communication mode: on the phone, in meetings, and via email! Oh, and of course you’re also best buddies with reporting, lightning-fast timings, briefings, budgets, presentations, and concepts!
When it comes to our client projects, your middle name is “Motivator”: you dream up exciting motivation campaigns and design cool incentive systems — in short, you take even the most fleeting pipe dream of a client and turn it — piff paff puff — into a palace in no time. Your one and only thought (in every spare moment) is: what ideas can I come up with to get the participants in my projects to sell just a little bit more? To do that, you think in scoring mechanics, run performance controlling (some call it business intelligence), and dream up individual action measures in the communication mix to fire up every single participant and make them hungry for more. Bang Bang.
The project is yours! And as the project ringmaster, you also take care of the creation and development of the portals, their updates, quality controls, testing, and whatever else comes your way. It’s definitely helpful if you’ve mastered basic arithmetic — both for quoting, budget planning, and invoicing, as well as for seriously impressive analyses and project controlling.
Another key part of keeping clients happy is our “creative brain cell jogging sessions.” Under “creation” we include everything that can be sent digitally around the world or printed on good old paper: websites, online shops, HTML newsletters, mailings, brochures, and catalogues. Our rule: we love great copy and have zero tolerance for copy-cats — only original output from the BuM text workshop. Anything else? Yes — we also create PowerPoint presentations that look absolutely stunning, leaving clients with just one thought: we need that!
Technical Solutions Manager
As part of the Customer Success Management team, you are basically the twin sibling of Photoshop-Phil, hold the black belt in Excel, love juggling data, can work a bit of HTML magic, and can spell “usability” more or less correctly. You’re constantly online and enjoy the occasional game of Kanban solitaire? Then you’ll feel right at home in our Tech & Data team, where — alongside the other pale, long-haired programmers — you can really let loose across all of these disciplines:
- When developing a new portal, you have a serious say: from the overall structure to usability and page navigation
- For our portals, you build great clickable prototypes and spot new improvement potential in the tiniest corners with X-ray vision
- Mobile-responsive websites are the delicious sponge base — cool app features are the cream and cherry on top
- When it comes to newsletters, your motto is: “I eat code for <br>eakfast” — then get those hot news out the door!
- We also have freaks: totally creative ones, because sometimes our portals and newsletters call for retouching and restyling at the highest level — everything has to look sharp!
- We generate mountains of data salad — for analyses, reconciliations, reports, surveys, and more. All those numbers need to be wrangled and filed without gaps — and when there’s a glitch in the matrix, you step in as data detective
- Anything else? Yep — as a problem solver, you handle everything — not just coding! You can fix the photocopier by laying hands on it and unjam printers with a vacuum cleaner
- You are also the gatekeeper of our tool access, maintain our wiki, and earn a “thank you, thank you, thank you!” for every alleged bug query
- Oh, and on the side, you also make our clients happy with all that techy stuff 😉

Rewards & Procurement
Our rewards range leaves nothing to be desired — and that’s exactly what our clients love. Well, actually more so their employees who take part in our sales competitions. Because what could be more motivating than having a wish come true? With over 3,000 articles in our rewards range, we truly have something for everyone — and our rewards team is the real deal. What do they get up to? Plenty.
As a Category Specialist, you have a nose for innovative products, track down exactly the right thing for every taste, happily wear out your shoes on stuffy trade show floors, and can never get enough of coffee dates with suppliers. If you also never get lost for words and can squeeze every last detail about a desired reward out of a supplier, you are exactly who we’re looking for.
As a true rewards pusher, you naturally have a deep passion for Excel and endless lists — keeping a constant overview of our entire range. Our intergalactic rewards matrix tells you at a glance exactly where things stand and where you should roll up your sleeves next. Because our rewards range doesn’t just need designing — it needs managing. The magic word is inventory management! And none of that works without staying closely connected to our fantastic suppliers. But there’s more: as a Rewards Alien, you conjure up the perfect curated rewards selection for every client in a beautifully designed catalogue — making every participant so excited about the rewards that they give absolutely everything to get them.
It would be wonderful if our lovely suppliers always had every product in stock and could deliver on time. That’s what Operational Services is for. Everyone on that team is relentlessly friendly and makes sure everything lands in the warehouse on time and flies back out again quickly. Oh — almost forgot: on the side, you also send thousands of vouchers to participants — digitally or physically. As you can see, multitasking, flexibility, and a sense of humour are essential here too.
As a Rewards Manager, you are lord or lady of all rewards projects — basically like surfing: you keep the balance between all stakeholders, manage your internal clients, build the most beautiful PowerPoint presentations for new rewards requests, and come up with wildly creative rewards ideas. Because the show must go on and clients must think: what an insanely creative bunch the BuMs are. At the end of every month, you clear the inventory system of all rewards dispatch lists so we can invoice correctly. You absolutely love checking how projects are performing, monitoring delivery times, ordering behaviour, and rewards trends. Things get colourful when you enchant participants and stock the portals with your magical rewards banners.
And if something does go wrong, that’s a case for our Customer Service Team. As the resident agony aunt or uncle, you make sure clients quickly get the right reward or replacement part, that billing issues and delivery delays dissolve into thin air, cancellations and point credits sail through smoothly, and everyone ends up happy. The team loves chatting with participants — acting as consoler, sandman, Easter bunny, and Father Christmas all in one — making sure every question, wish, and hope is fulfilled. To keep things running smoothly, you have an amazing software solution at your fingertips that practically reads your mind and makes your life easier — leaving you plenty of time to chat with participants, help them through the ordering process, reset the occasional password, or advise them on the perfect reward.
In Procurement, you feel like you’re living every shopping queen’s wildest dream. You get to spend other people’s money and shop until the cows come home. You pick up taste and inspiration at trade shows across the world (i.e. Germany), flirt and schmooze with cool brand manufacturers, close contracts, and haggle like a supplier whisperer at the bazaar to nail the best terms. In between, you manage the fully (well, semi-) automated order management that our inventory intelligence conjures up and steer it in the right direction — always making sure the shelves in our fulfilment centres are stacked to the brim. As Lead Strategic Procurement, you also hold all the organisational threads for purchasing, logistics, and rewards project management firmly in your hands. Oh, and you’re also the special ops unit for heavenly special missions!
Anyone who shops this much naturally needs a big Warehouse & Logistics operation. Which we have — with everything that comes with it: fully loaded shelves, goods receipt, picking, packing, goods dispatch, and logistics. Everything is constantly in motion, because picking has to be done by 3:30pm every day — that’s when the DHL delivery fairy comes to collect the parcels for our participants! And if it ever gets to 3:31pm, your important task is also to sweet-talk the courier services and freight companies. Maybe a beer or apple cider (alcohol-free, of course 😉) — or they can go pet our agency dogs.
